Terre dei Santi

Terre dei Santi is a trademark that combines two realities of Asti region, in Piedmont, that for years operate in the wine sector: the Cellars of Freisa di Castelnuovo Don Bosco and of Barbera di San Damiano d’Asti.

The first located in the area of Malvasia and Freisa , the second of Barbera d’Asti and of the Terre Alfieri Arneis, are united by the same dedication to quality and the authenticity of their corresponding wines, to respect the traditions and the love for their land. Founded in 1953 the “ Cantina Sociale del Freisa” has always been the benchmark of viticulture in the Castelnovese and Chierese regions.

In 1988, an important first step in the beginning of a continuous progression for the quality of its wines has been the rationalization of production with the introduction of an obligation by its members wine growers to confer the totality of their own grapes.

In 1997 a major turning point by the merger with the historic Wine-Cellar of Barbera of San Damiano d’Asti: so Terre dei Santi is born as an agricultural cooperative society that currently has approximately 320 ectars of vinyards, scattered among hills that have always been dedicated to the production of Piedmont noble wines.

The methods of cultivation, conducted in full compliance with the environment and health of workers, the careful selection of its vines and grapes, chosen according to the characteristics of the territory and the most modern winemaking technologies give rise to more than 40 different wines of superior quality.
